Spring Update – 2015

It is time for an update on the activities of the RVA since the beginning of the year.  It has been a busy time and we have accomplished much:

We continue to support the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) unit at the Eisenhower Hospital at Ft Gordon.  In 2014 for example, we expended over $4000 to enable the patients to get out in the community by going to the movies, lunches, dinners and bowling.  While these may seem small and insignificant, they are crucial in the wellness and rehabilitation process of patients with TBI.

We coordinated with Reynolds resident and Student Veteran Resource Center Director, LCOL Ted Barco, to provide financial aid to several student veterans who experienced “cash crunches” due to gaps in their GI Bill benefits during the semester.  One who recently graduated with a degree in criminal justice recently finished an internship with the GA Bureau of Investigation.
